The Black Student Union gathered this month to embark on the second annual TMUnited March around campus with faculty and students alike. The route included stops for members of the community to raise their voices about meaningful experiences and stories within the social culture. Impactful stories were heard from people such as Provost Molly Smith on how she sees students come together on campus, and Assistant Dean of Students Latorria Griffith shared quotes to live by and to get us motivated to stay on the right path.
BSU President Diamond Vance led the march and the crowd through the course is continuing the fight for equality on and off campus. "It's important to keep doing these things because even when the trends fall, there is always going to be that fight for equality." Vance Said.
The march ended in the Mary, Seat of wisdom chapel with everyone coming together in a unified candle lighting. Marchers gathered by helping one another to light each other's candles in a sign of strength and solidarity that the light they have inside will continue to burn for the cause.
