Xavier University No Longer Requires Masks on Campus

Updated: May 30, 2023

Xavier University announced that as of February 21st 2022, they will be removing their mask mandate for the campus. Masks will no longer be mandatory in public, indoor spaces like classrooms and common areas. The University stated that even though the mandate is lifted, “all community members are welcome to continue wearing a mask.".

The big question now, will Thomas More University follow a similar path. With the February 15th Covid update there are 0 Covid cases on campus. The comparison has been made of the two Universities' student population, of Xavier’s 6,800 and Thomas More's 1,900. Staff and students are optimistic that the recent Covid numbers and the world slowly opening back up is a sign that Thomas More will return to what we can call normal.
