Saints' Football score most points since 2015 with 73-28 win

Thursday, September 30th the Saints traveled to Campbellsville University. The Thomas More football team left with a 73-28 victory, the most points scored by the saints in over 5 years.



The saints opened up the first quarter with three touchdowns thrown by Jay Volpenhein and Rae'Von Vaden, scored by Monalo Caldwell, Austin Bowling, Roques Dowdy and three successful field goal kicks by Alexander Haley. The first quarter was finished by Roques Dowdy catching a 64 yd pass from Volpenhein.


The second quarter saw Charles Gaines Jr catch Volpenhein's 16-yard pass from Volpenhein. Mason Krammer completed a pass from Vaden and ended with Senior linebacker Drew Bartolovich intercepting the ball from Campbellsville. The score at the end of the first half was 35-7.


Highlights from the third quarter include Alexander Haley making a successful 40-yard field goal attempt and Kel Hawkins returning a kick from 90 yards for a touchdown. The score at the end of the third was 59-14.


The saints continued dominating the tigers into the fourth quarter with touchdowns from Craig Wills Jr, Chase Elmore, and Rae'Von Vaden sneaking in the last touchdown for the saints.


The final score of the night was 73-28. This brings the team's conference record to 1-0 and overall record to 2-2. The saints return home this upcoming Saturday, October 9th at 7 pm to defend the turf from Linsey Wilson.
