Thomas More University is home to many great rugby players, one of which being senior Hudson Montgomery. He is a big piece of the division 2 national champion winning team, which is now a division 1 team (the only one on our campus)! Hudson is a true leader on
and off the field, even being named
team captain and holding the position since 2019. His teammates would describe him as hardworking, disciplined and charismatic.
On February 6, 2023 National Collegiate Rugby released their All American list which includes the top 23 players from each division. Hudson was ranked at number 21 in division one rugby. Last year Hudson had made the division 2 All American list as well being ranked number 18 out of 23 players. While talking to Hudson about being selected for the All American list and the transition from division 2 to division 1 he said “ The transition was certainly a difficult one. The physical and mental side of things takes and extreme step up, the competition is steep and being selected is an honor. I am thankful to the NCR for the All American selection.”
